Sealing Excavator Hydraulic Motor Flanges for Max Force

  • Post last modified:November 15, 2025

Excavator hydraulic motor flanges (found on travel motors, swing drives, and pump assemblies) operate under a constant, demanding load. They are the critical joints that contain high-velocity hydraulic fluid while enduring extreme system pressure (often 3000+ PSI), continuous vibration and shock from machine movement, and intense internal heat. A leak at a hydraulic flange is an immediate and major loss of fluid, power, and operational control, resulting in costly downtime and potential equipment damage.

Don’t let high pressure and vibration break down your system’s critical seals.

INCURE HeatGrip™ 503 High-Temp Anaerobic Flange Sealant

Hydraulic motor and pump casings are built with heavy, precision-machined steel or cast iron flanges that require a seal to maintain a rigid, leak-proof barrier against internal pressure. The INCURE HeatGrip™ 503 is engineered for these critical hydraulic environments, creating a rigid, high-strength barrier that ensures zero pressure loss and maximum system efficiency.

Feature & BenefitTechnical Insight for Hydraulic Motor FlangesConversion Value
Superior Pressure ResistanceCures to an extremely high-strength, rigid plastic that provides maximum resistance to the high internal pressures typical of heavy-duty hydraulic systems.Lock in the Force:
Achieve a permanent, absolute seal that maximizes your motor’s hydraulic output and containment.
High-Temperature StabilityRated for continuous operation up to 200∘C (392∘F), ensuring the rigid seal remains stable under the friction and thermal load of constant hydraulic use.End the Heat Wars:
Get a seal that won’t weaken or degrade, even in the hottest hydraulic loops.
Hydraulic Fluid ImmunityChemically inert to all standard and synthetic hydraulic fluids, preventing the sealant from breaking down or contaminating the vital hydraulic system.Protect Your System:
Ensure the sealant won’t compromise the cleanliness or function of your hydraulic fluid.
Minimal Gap SealingThe 503 is ideal for close-tolerance, rigid flanges typical of precision-machined hydraulic components, forming a perfect, gap-free seal.Precision for Power:
Trust a rigid seal designed to hold integrity in the highest-pressure applications.

Application Steps: Sealing Hydraulic Motor Flanges for Permanent Integrity

Preparation (Zero Contamination): Thoroughly clean both flange faces—remove all previous sealant, residue, and all traces of hydraulic oil. Use a degreasing solvent (like industrial brake cleaner or acetone) and wipe until the metal surfaces are perfectly dry. Contamination is the enemy of high-pressure anaerobic seals.

Application: Apply a continuous, thin bead of HeatGrip™ 503 onto one flange face, circling all bolt holes. Use a roller or spreader to create a uniform, thin film across the entire mating surface. The sealant cures best when confined in a thin film between rigid metal parts.

Assembly: Immediately mate the motor cover to the casing (within 5 minutes). Torque the bolts to the manufacturer’s specified pattern and value to ensure even clamping and proper anaerobic curing.

Curing Time (Critical): Allow a full 24 hours for the sealant to cure completely. This cure time is mandatory to achieve maximum pressure and thermal resistance before subjecting the hydraulic motor to operational pressures.

Stop risking leaks and maximize your operational force and machine reliability.
