Securing Suspension Bolts Against Shock and Stress

  • Post last modified:October 10, 2025

Suspension bolts are among the hardest-working, safety-critical fasteners on any vehicle or piece of machinery. They operate under relentless demands: massive shock loads from potholes and rough terrain, extreme shear forces during cornering, and constant, high-frequency vibration. A failure in a structural suspension bolt is a severe safety hazard that can lead to a sudden loss of vehicle control and component failure.

Don’t compromise the integrity of your chassis—secure these vital links with a permanent chemical lock.

INCURE Re-Lok™ B72 Red Heavy Duty Threadlocking Adhesive

For structural suspension points—including main control arm pivots, strut mounts, and trailing link connections—maximum permanent strength is mandatory. The INCURE Re-Lok™ B72 Red is a high-strength, high-temperature anaerobic adhesive designed to secure fasteners against the most severe dynamic loads and continuous stress encountered in a chassis environment.

Feature & BenefitTechnical Insight for Suspension BoltsConversion Value
High Strength, Permanent LockProvides the maximum breakaway and prevailing torque, securing structural fasteners up to M36 against loosening from heavy shock and continuous vibration.Absolute Safety: Achieve a non-negotiable, permanent bond for the most critical chassis connections.
Superior Shock and Load ResistanceCures into a rigid thermoset plastic that completely fills all clearances between threads, damping dynamic shock loads and preventing fastener fatigue.End the Movement: Eliminate all microscopic play, ensuring the assembly remains torqued and aligned under severe conditions.
High Thermal ResistanceWithstands continuous operating temperatures up to 230°C, maintaining stability even near hot braking systems or exhaust components.All-Weather Stability: Ensures the chemical lock remains robust regardless of external temperature changes.
Contaminant ToleranceDesigned to cure reliably on common chassis metals (steel, cast iron, plated bolts) even if minor surface contamination is present.Reliable Results: Get dependable performance without requiring extensive and time-consuming component preparation.

Application Steps: Securing Suspension Bolts for Chassis Integrity

Preparation (Mandatory): Due to the high safety requirements, the threads of both the bolts and the receiving hole (or nut) must be meticulously cleaned. Use a wire brush and a heavy-duty degreasing solvent. Ensure all surfaces are perfectly dry and free of old grease or rust.

Application: Apply a continuous, liberal bead of Re-Lok™ B72 Red around the entire circumference of the bolt threads, focusing on the area that will be engaged in the nut or bore.

Assembly: Immediately install the bolt and nut/component. Using a calibrated torque wrench, tighten the fasteners to the manufacturer’s specified valueDo not under-torque, as proper clamping force is essential for joint rigidity.

Curing Time (Critical): Allow a full 24 hours for the adhesive to achieve its maximum high-strength and load-resistant cure. The vehicle or machinery must not be operated or subjected to dynamic loads until the full cure time is complete.

Stop risking dangerous mechanical failures and secure your safety-critical components with the toughest chemical integrity.
