Securing Bearing Housing Bolts Against Rotation and Heat

  • Post last modified:November 15, 2025

Bearing housing bolts are foundational to any rotating machinery, be it a motor, pump, or roller assembly. They are under continuous assault from high-frequency vibration generated by the shaft’s rotation, massive thrust loads, and often, significant operational heat. A loosened bearing housing bolt leads immediately to misalignment, rapid bearing wear, catastrophic machine failure, and potential safety hazards due to structural instability.

Don’t compromise the stability of your rotating components; secure the housing with a high-strength, permanent chemical lock.

INCURE Re-Lok™ B72 Red Heavy Duty Threadlocking Adhesive

For securing structural, non-serviceable components like bearing housings, maximum permanent strength is essential. The INCURE Re-Lok™ B72 Red is a high-strength, high-temperature anaerobic adhesive engineered to secure fasteners against the most severe dynamic loads, heat, and vibration found in high-performance machinery.

Feature & BenefitTechnical Insight for Bearing Housing BoltsConversion Value
High Strength, Permanent LockProvides the maximum breakaway and prevailing torque, securing structural fasteners up to M36 against severe operational loads and rotational forces.Maximum Uptime: Achieve an unshakeable bond that prevents misalignment and premature bearing failure.
Superior Shock and Vibration DampingCures into a solid, rigid plastic that fills all thread gaps, effectively damping high-frequency vibration and preventing fastener back-out.Stop the Rattle: Eliminate creep and ensure the bearing remains precisely seated, maximizing its lifespan.
Extreme Thermal ResistanceWithstands continuous operating temperatures up to 230°C, maintaining full strength even with the high frictional heat generated by rapid shaft rotation.Heat-Proof Confidence: Ensure the chemical lock remains robust under peak thermal conditions.
Contaminant ToleranceDesigned to cure quickly and reliably on surfaces that are not perfectly clean, tolerating minor residue from assembly oils or lubricants.Reliable Assembly: Get dependable performance without requiring excessive, time-consuming preparation.

Application Steps: Securing Bearing Housing Bolts for Maximum Durability

Preparation (Mandatory): Due to the critical nature of bearing alignment, the threads of both the bolts and the receiving bores must be meticulously cleaned. Use a wire brush and a heavy-duty degreasing solvent. Ensure all surfaces are perfectly dry and free of old grease or oil.

Application: Apply a continuous, liberal bead of Re-Lok™ B72 Red around the entire circumference of the bolt threads, focusing on the area that will be engaged in the housing.

Assembly: Immediately install the housing and thread the bolts. Using a calibrated torque wrench, tighten the bolts to the manufacturer’s specified value. Proper clamping force is essential for seating the bearing correctly.

Curing Time (Critical): Allow a full 24 hours for the adhesive to achieve its maximum high-strength and load-resistant cure. The machinery must not be operated or subjected to rotational speed until the full cure time is complete.

Stop risking catastrophic machine failures and secure your structural components with the toughest chemical integrity.
