Incure L33 — Single-Pass Cure for Conformal Coating Sections and Gasket Rings

  • Post last modified:August 31, 2026

Conformal coating sections and perimeter gasket rings have an awkward habit of landing right in the 2-to-3-inch range — too wide for a compact spot lamp, too specific a shape for a large square flood array to cover efficiently. The Incure L33 is sized for exactly that middle zone.

2.25× the Curing Area of the L22, Same Intensity Class

The Incure L33 is a 3″ × 3″ UV LED flood curing lamp built on an 81-LED array, expanding from the Incure L22‘s 4 sq. in. to 9 sq. in. — a 2.25× increase in coverage at 3,100 mW/cm² peak output (385/395/405 nm), down modestly from the L22’s 4,300 mW/cm² as the array spreads across the larger zone. Assemblies spanning 3 inches in one or both dimensions no longer need two passes with the L22 or a repositioning jig between exposures — the L33 covers the full section in one trigger cycle.

One Cycle for Coating Sections and Gasket Rings the L22 Can’t Reach Whole

Conformal coating sections, dome coating areas, and perimeter gasket rings frequently span the 2-to-3-inch range in at least one dimension. Covering that geometry with the L22 means either two overlapping exposures or a fixture that repositions the part mid-cycle — both introduce a seam where UV dose either doubles or drops below the intended level. The L33 covers the full zone in a single, consistent exposure, which matters specifically for coating and gasket applications where an under-cured seam becomes a moisture-ingress or leak path rather than just a cosmetic defect.

3,100 mW/cm² Across a 3″ × 3″ Area

Peak irradiance at a 2-inch working distance is 3,100 mW/cm² at 385, 395, or 405 nm, and 2,600 mW/cm² at 365 nm, from the 81-LED array. Static uniformity holds at 0.78 at 2.0 inches. Like the L11 and L22, the L33 is dimensionally matched to the Incure C131C, C131D, and C141C compact cure chambers, and carries the same LCD front panel, foot-switch, and PLC digital I/O control set.

Repositioning Cost Versus a Larger Single-Pass Lamp

The real cost of running a coating or gasket section slightly larger than the L22 covers isn’t just the second exposure cycle — it’s the fixture engineering needed to reposition the part precisely enough that the two passes overlap without a gap and without excessive double-dosing at the seam. That fixture complexity, and the process validation required to confirm the overlap zone cures correctly, is often a larger practical cost than the price difference between the L22 and the L33. Sizing directly to the L33 when a section regularly exceeds 2 inches in either dimension usually pays for itself in reduced fixture and validation effort alone.

Matching the L33 to Coating Cure-Path Requirements

For UV conformal coating passes at this scale, cure completeness through the full film thickness — not just surface tack-free time — is the metric that determines whether the L33’s 3,100 mW/cm² and standard exposure time are sufficient. The Incure Ultra-Illumina™ UV conformal coatings line documents grade-specific coverage and cure-path data that should be checked against the L33’s output before finalizing a process window; a coating that reads tack-free at the surface can still be under-cured beneath a thicker film if exposure time isn’t set to match. Email Us with the coating grade and target film thickness for a cure-time recommendation specific to the L33.

For gasket-ring applications where the cured bead needs to seal reliably around a perimeter, the Incure Uni-Weld™ Multi-Substrates Bonder line’s viscosity-graded formulations are worth reviewing for how the material’s flow characteristics interact with a single-pass 3-inch cure zone.

Power, Cooling, and Wavelength Ordering

The L33 shares the same auto-ranging 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz power input and forced-air louvered cooling as the rest of the compact-chamber-compatible L-Series™ models, and its wavelength — 365, 385, 395, or 405 nm — is factory-configured at order rather than field-adjustable afterward. Since coating and gasket adhesive systems can vary in photoinitiator response even within the same general product family, confirming the specific formulation’s peak absorption wavelength against the L33’s ordering options before committing to a purchase order avoids a mismatch that only surfaces once the coating fails to reach expected cure depth on the production floor.

Where the L33 Sits in the Lineup

The L33 is the point in the L-Series™ where intensity begins to step down as area increases — the L11 and L22 share identical peak output, but the L33 drops to 3,100 mW/cm², and the L44 above it holds that same 3,100 mW/cm² across a still-larger 4″ × 4″ zone. Choosing the L33 over stepping directly to the L44 comes down to whether the actual coating or gasket geometry needs the full 16 sq. in. or fits comfortably within 9 — oversizing the lamp adds irradiated area around the part’s edges without adding useful coverage.

Operators running the L33 at close working distance should use UV-rated eye protection matched to the lamp’s wavelength range; Incure Vison™ eyewear covers the full L-Series™ output band.
