Buying a spot-cure controller usually means committing to whatever lightguide geometry the current job needs — and then buying a second controller when the next job needs something different. The Incure L9000-BASE is built around not making that trade.

One Controller, Any Lightguide Configuration

The Incure L9000-BASE is the controller platform behind every configuration in the Incure L9000™ spot-cure lamp family, sold separately from any specific lightguide. It accepts the Cool Guide, Short Guide, and Long Guide interchangeably, without hardware changes between them. Start with whichever configuration the current application needs; when a new product family or fixture geometry arrives, connect a different guide. The controller, its intensity settings, and its programmed timer values carry over without recalibration or service — only the guide changes.

Up to Four Independent Lightguides From One Unit

The L9000-BASE supports up to four independent lightguides running simultaneously — four Cool Guides across four adjacent assemblies, or a mix of guide types across a multi-station fixture. For laboratories and production lines maintaining several part families, this means standardizing on a single controller model across the whole operation; lightguides become the only configuration-specific consumable, rather than each new job requiring its own controller purchase. Intensity and timing are programmable independently per trigger cycle, not tied to a specific guide — each of the four ports can run its own cure profile.

Up to 7,500 mW/cm² at Any Wavelength From 365 to 405 nm

The controller is factory-configured to a single wavelength at order — 365, 375, 385, 395, or 405 nm — matched to the adhesive’s peak absorption for the intended application. Output intensity is adjustable from 10% to 100% either from the front panel or via RS-232, and the activation timer is programmable from 0.1 to 999.9 seconds. Peak irradiance reaches up to 7,500 mW/cm² depending on the lightguide and focal point distance selected. LED life is rated at 15,000 hours — roughly 1,875 working days at 8 hours per day — with no recalibration required at any point in that service life; at end of life, the LED light source module is replaced and production resumes without a full controller swap.

Choosing Which Guide to Pair With the Base Unit

The L9000-BASE’s value depends entirely on picking the right lightguide for the application. The Cool Guide’s cube head and integrated fan suit tight-clearance geometries and thermally sensitive assemblies; the Short Guide’s simple cylindrical tip fits any standard spot-cure fixture without adaptation; the Long Guide’s extended reach keeps the controller mounted outside a fixture envelope while the tip reaches deep inside it. At a 15,000-hour rated LED life — roughly 1,875 working days at 8 hours a day — the L9000-BASE is built for a service life measured in years of continuous production use before the light source itself needs attention, and no recalibration is required at any point during that operating life. When the module does eventually reach end of life, replacing the LED light source module restores full output without requiring a new controller purchase — a meaningfully lower long-term cost of ownership than equipment where end-of-life means replacing the entire unit.

Comparing Against Arc-Lamp Spot Curing

For applications where broad-spectrum output across a wider band matters more than LED wavelength precision — activating photoinitiators outside the L9000-BASE’s factory-set wavelength without reformulating the adhesive — the Incure S20™ mercury arc platform covers 300–550 nm from a single unit. The L9000-BASE supports cable lengths of 2,000, 3,000, or 5,000 mm between the controller and each lightguide — a choice that should be driven by where the controller can realistically be mounted relative to each cure point, particularly on a fixture running all four available ports simultaneously. Running four lightguides from one controller means four separate cable runs to plan for, and confirming routing paths don’t create tension, kinking, or interference with moving fixture components is worth doing at the layout stage rather than after installation, since a damaged fibre optic cable degrades transmittance in ways that aren’t always obvious from a visual inspection alone.
