Running a thin adhesive through a needle sized for a thicker one creates pressure spikes that show up as inconsistent bead width and unpredictable break-off. The Incure Sniper SN-18 exists to remove that restriction entirely.

Low-viscosity UV adhesives, cyanoacrylates, aqueous sealants, and thin coatings pass through the SN-18 bore without the pressure spikes that build up in narrower gauges — a real problem when a thin material is forced through a needle sized for something thicker, since elevated pump pressure on a low-viscosity fluid tends to produce inconsistent bead geometry rather than a clean, controlled line.

Running at the lowest achievable driving pressure has a secondary benefit worth noting on high-speed dispensing lines: lower pump pressure generally means faster pressure-response time when the dispenser opens and closes, which supports tighter dot and dash placement accuracy at high cycle rates even though the SN-18’s own bore is sized for volume rather than precision.

If a current process is running at elevated pump pressure on a genuinely thin adhesive through a finer gauge, that’s usually a sign the gauge is undersized for the material — the SN-18 resolves that restriction by opening the flow path to its maximum rather than fighting the pressure with process tuning.

Non-Ferrous Construction for Sensitive Assemblies

Steel dispensing needles shed ferrous particles over time, and those particles are a real contamination risk on magnetic sensors, HDD read/write assemblies, and precision optical alignment components — problems that have nothing to do with the adhesive itself but everything to do with the needle material. The SN-18 is machined from phosphor bronze: non-magnetic, non-ferrous, and chemically inert to UV adhesives, cyanoacrylates, and common electronics-assembly solvents. No magnetic particle sweep is needed between dispensing operations on sensitive assemblies.

That chemical inertness matters beyond just magnetic sensor work — phosphor bronze doesn’t react with or degrade from prolonged exposure to the acrylate and cyanoacrylate chemistries common in UV-cure and instant-bond formulations, which keeps the needle’s bore geometry and dispensing characteristics consistent over its service life rather than degrading with repeated exposure.

Choosing the SN-18 over a finer gauge should be a viscosity-and-flow-rate decision, not a default: if a bead is coming out wider than the joint requires, or if a finer gauge would still flow the material without excess pump pressure, one of the narrower options in the range likely fits better. A quick diagnostic on an existing line: if pump pressure is already climbing toward the dispenser’s upper limit just to maintain flow on a thin adhesive, that’s a reliable sign the current gauge is undersized rather than a signal to push the pressure setting any higher.
