Incure SN-19 — Tighter Bead Placement Without Losing the SN-18’s Flow Characteristics

  • Post last modified:August 31, 2026

The widest bore in a dispensing needle range isn’t always the right one, even for a low-viscosity adhesive — sometimes the deposit itself needs to be narrower than maximum flow allows. The Incure Sniper SN-19 exists for exactly that adjustment.

Narrowing the Bead Without Restricting the Flow

At 0.859 mm inner diameter — 17% narrower than the SN-18’s 1.039 mm — the SN-19 is the second-widest bore in the Sniper range, and it’s built for a specific scenario: low-viscosity UV adhesives, cyanoacrylates, and aqueous coatings that flow easily through the SN-18, but where the SN-18’s wider deposit over-fills a compact bond pad or spreads onto adjacent components. Rather than switching to a genuinely finer gauge that would restrict flow on a thin material, the SN-19 keeps the same low-pressure flow characteristic as the SN-18 while narrowing the bead width to bring the deposit back inside the joint geometry.

That 17% step is deliberately modest — large enough to matter on a bond pad where the SN-18’s deposit spills over the edge, but small enough that dispensing parameters carried over from the SN-18 rarely need major retuning, unlike a jump straight to a medium-viscosity gauge.

That distinction matters because narrowing bore diameter and restricting flow aren’t the same adjustment — a needle that’s too fine for a thin adhesive fights the material with backpressure, while the SN-19’s modest reduction from the SN-18 stays within the range where low-viscosity fluids still flow cleanly.

Non-Ferrous Construction Carries Over

Like the SN-18, the SN-19 is machined from phosphor bronze — non-magnetic, non-ferrous, and chemically inert to UV adhesives, cyanoacrylates, and common electronics-assembly solvents. That matters equally at this bore size: magnetic sensors, HDD read/write assemblies, and precision optical alignment components are all sensitive to ferrous particle contamination regardless of which gauge is dispensing near them, and phosphor bronze construction removes that risk without requiring a magnetic particle sweep between operations. The same chemical inertness that makes phosphor bronze safe for these adhesive chemistries also keeps the bore geometry stable over the needle’s service life, rather than degrading gradually from repeated chemical exposure the way a less inert alloy might.

Email Us if the SN-18’s deposit width is over-filling a compact bond pad or spreading onto adjacent components on an otherwise low-viscosity application.

Fit and Identification

The orange PP Luer Lock hub seats on any standard 1cc to 30cc dispensing barrel without adapters, and orange is the color code for this specific bore size — a quick visual confirmation during changeovers on lines running multiple Sniper gauges.

Specifications and Application Fit

The SN-19 has a 1.059 mm outer diameter, an 18 mm nominal overall length, and ships in packs of 10 in phosphor bronze cannula material. Available coatings span the full lineup: No Coating, Electroless Nickel, Nickel PTFE, Nickel Polymer Type SLK, and Parylene Type C. Recommended materials remain the same low-viscosity category as the SN-18 — UV adhesives under 1,000 cP, cyanoacrylates, aqueous sealants, thin conformal coatings, and flux — across electronics assembly, optical bonding, and semiconductor packaging.

Positioning in the Sniper Range

The SN-19 is the direct step down from the SN-18 for facilities that need tighter bead control without changing the adhesive’s viscosity band. For maximum flow at the absolute lowest pump pressure, the SN-18 at 1.039 mm remains the wider option. For controlled dispensing once viscosity moves into the medium range — roughly 1,000 to 10,000 cP — the SN-20 (0.681 mm) and SN-21 (0.610 mm) are the correct next steps rather than continuing to narrow within the low-viscosity band. For high-viscosity gels and filled formulations, the range continues through SN-23 (0.564 mm), SN-25 (0.437 mm), SN-27 (0.335 mm), and SN-30 (0.234 mm).

All Sniper needles in the standard phosphor bronze range, including the SN-19, share the same PP Luer Lock hub design and are available in No Coating, Electroless Nickel, or Nickel PTFE at minimum — consistency that keeps dispensing equipment interchangeable across gauge changes.

A practical way to confirm the SN-19 is the right fit, rather than guessing, is to run a side-by-side deposit comparison against the SN-18 on the same fixture, same pump pressure, and same adhesive lot. If the SN-19’s narrower bead clears the bond pad boundary while the flow rate and break-off quality stay visually unchanged from the SN-18, the gauge swap has solved the containment problem without introducing a new one. If break-off quality degrades noticeably, that’s a sign the material may be closer to the medium-viscosity threshold than expected, and the SN-20 is worth evaluating instead.

The SN-19 pairs well with lower-viscosity grades from Incure’s Uni-Weld Multi-Substrates Bonder line, and with fast-flow formulations in the Ultra-Illumina UV conformal coatings range.
