Where the SN-23 Overfills, the SN-25 Fits

The Incure Sniper™ SN-25 has a 0.437 mm inner diameter, 23% narrower than the SN-23’s 0.564 mm bore. On fine-pitch PCB joints, SMT underfill pockets, and sub-millimetre dot work, that narrower bore keeps the bead inside the pad rather than spreading past it. The SN-25 deposits controlled volume from filled epoxies and other high-viscosity formulations without stepping up to the extreme backpressure the SN-27 (0.335 mm) or SN-30 (0.234 mm) gauges require — it sits at the point in the Sniper™ range where fine-pitch accuracy and manageable dispensing pressure both hold.

High-Viscosity Materials, Not Just Fine Lines

Narrower gauge and high viscosity usually work against each other — most fine gauges choke on filled formulations. The SN-25 is rated for filled epoxies, thermally conductive pastes, silver-filled conductive adhesives, and high-solid-content UV formulations, the same material class the broader SN-23 handles, just at a tighter deposit diameter. That combination matters on assemblies where the adhesive itself needs particle loading for thermal or electrical performance, but the bond geometry is too small for a wide-bore needle.

Non-Magnetic Construction for Sensitive Assemblies

Steel needles shed ferrous particles during dispensing, and those particles contaminate magnetic sensors, HDD read/write assemblies, and precision optical alignment components downstream. The SN-25 is machined from phosphor bronze — non-magnetic, non-ferrous, and chemically inert to filled epoxies, conductive adhesives, and cyanoacrylates. The SN-25 ships with a white polypropylene Luer Lock hub that seats on any standard 1cc to 30cc dispensing barrel — no adapters, no proprietary fittings. White is the industry-standard color code for this bore size, so operators can identify the gauge at a glance during line changeovers when several Sniper™ needles are staged at one station, without stopping to read a label or measure a tip under magnification.

Physical Spec and Ordering

The SN-25 measures 0.709 in (18 mm) overall length and weighs approximately 0.016 oz (0.454 g) — dimensions consistent across the whole Sniper™ range, so switching gauges mid-line doesn’t change fixture clearance or tip reach. Needles ship 10 per pack. Ordering follows a simple P/N format — SN-25-[Material]-[Coating] — with phosphor bronze (PB) or nickel silver (NS) as the material code and NC, EN, NPTFE, NP, or PY as the coating code; a standard no-coating phosphor bronze SN-25 orders as SN-25-PB-NC. Confirming coating code at order time avoids a mismatch between what a process actually needs and what ships, since re-coating a needle after delivery isn’t practical.

Coating Trade-Offs Worth Weighing

No Coating is the default starting point for most filled-epoxy and conductive-adhesive work at this gauge, but it’s not always the right long-term choice. Electroless Nickel adds wear resistance for high-volume runs with abrasive filler particles; Nickel PTFE reduces tip-face wetting and stringing on materials that tend to cling between shots; Nickel Polymer Type SLK and Parylene Type C address more specialized release and chemical-inertness requirements. At the SN-25’s moderate backpressure, coating choice is more about long-run consistency and tip life than it is a make-or-break reliability factor the way it becomes at the SN-27 and SN-30 gauges — but it’s still worth specifying deliberately rather than defaulting.
