  • Red is always better because it is stronger. A high-strength grade on a joint that needs periodic service turns every maintenance visit into a heating job and raises the risk of thread damage. Strength should match the consequence of loosening, not be maximized by default.
  • Blue is not strong enough for anything important. Medium-strength grades hold against the vibration and shock seen in most machinery, vehicles, and equipment. Many critical joints use blue precisely because it locks reliably and still allows inspection.
  • Color guarantees performance. Color indicates a strength class, not a specification. Two blue products can differ in viscosity, temperature rating, cure speed, and oil tolerance. Work from the data sheet, not the cap color.
  • Threadlocker replaces correct torque. It supplements a properly torqued joint by preventing rotation. It does not compensate for an underspecified fastener or an incorrect clamp load.
