How to Remove Bubbles from UV Glue: A Step-by-Step Guide
Bubbles in a cured UV glue line are more than a cosmetic flaw. Each void concentrates stress, gives a crack an easy path, scatters light in an optical joint, and can trap uncured adhesive that keeps outgassing. Preventing them is mostly about how the adhesive is dispensed and cured; removing them once cured means rework. Where the Bubbles Come From Air folded in during dispensing. Pumping adhesive too fast, a partially empty cartridge, or dragging the nozzle across the bead all whip air into the glue. Air trapped between the parts. Bringing two flat surfaces together traps whatever air was between them, especially with a thick bead or a closed-perimeter joint that has no vent path. Outgassing from the substrate. Porous materials, untreated plastics, and surfaces with absorbed moisture release gas when the adhesive covers them or when cure heat drives it out. Boiling from cure exotherm.
