Incure Litemask™ 4139G: A Light-Curable Gel Peelable Maskant
Some masking work needs a material that stays exactly where the operator puts it, with a defined edge and no migration into areas that must stay exposed. Incure Litemask™ 4139G is a light-curable gel peelable maskant formulated for controlled placement and clean removal on plating and cleaning lines. Gel versus liquid maskants A liquid maskant flows, self-levels, and finds its own edge. A gel maskant holds a shape. With 4139G, the operator sets the boundary and the material stays there: no run-off on vertical surfaces, no creep past the intended line, no pooling in low spots. That control is valuable when the masked and exposed regions sit close together and a feathered or wandering edge would spoil the result. The gel is applied by brush or dispense, cured in place into a tough elastomeric film, and peeled off by hand with no adhesive residue left behind. Cure options and control 4139G cures under UV, visible, LED, or heat. The reaction is radical photopolymerization driven by energy near 365–405 nm. Repeatability comes from two measured quantities: the delivered dose in millijoules per square centimeter, checked with a radiometer, and exposure of every masked face to that dose. A gel film built up thick, or one sitting in the shadow of a standing feature, is where cure lags. If the surface skins before the bulk sets, the layer underneath stays soft and chemicals attack it during the bath. Enough dose plus a heat step for shadowed areas keeps the full film solid. Chemical resistance and surface neutrality The cured film resists a wide range of chemicals, protecting masked surfaces through plating and cleaning cycles. The formulation is non-affective, so it does not stain, etch, or alter the masked surface before or after cure, and it lifts cleanly. It is 100% solids with no volatile organic compounds, giving low cure shrinkage and no solvent flash. Application and film build 4139G is placed by brush or dispensed bead and shaped to the boundary. Its gel body builds film on vertical and overhead surfaces where a thin resin would drain away. A second application adds barrier for longer or harsher baths. A wet-film gauge keeps thickness consistent across operators.
