A: Four areas cover nearly everything: keep the interior surfaces clean so light is not absorbed by residue; keep the forced-air cooling path and louvers unobstructed; track lamp output with a radiometer at a fixed reference position so gradual decline is visible; and confirm the door shutter or drawer shut-off still works. Each check is quick, and the value comes from doing them on a schedule and recording the results.<\/p>\n

Interior Surfaces: Protect What Reflects the Light<\/h3>\n

A chamber’s interior is part of the optical system. Residue from adhesive overspray, flux vapor, or handling contamination absorbs UV that would otherwise reach the part. The goal of interior care is to remove that residue without damaging the surface underneath.<\/p>\n

  1. Switch the lamp off, let it cool, and disconnect power before reaching inside.<\/li>\n
  2. Remove the shelf or tray and clean it separately.<\/li>\n

  4. Use only cleaning agents the equipment supplier approves; aggressive solvents and abrasive pads can permanently dull or scratch interior finishes.<\/li>\n
  5. Inspect for adhesive droplets on the floor or walls, which point to a dispensing or handling issue upstream.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Prevention beats cleaning. Loading parts with wet adhesive on their outer surfaces, or carrying an open dispenser into the chamber, transfers residue every cycle.<\/p>\n

    Cooling Airflow: Keep the Louvers Breathing<\/h3>\n

    Every Incure B\/C-Series\u2122 chamber uses forced-air cooling with louvers. That airflow carries lamp heat out of the enclosure, and it only works if air can enter and leave freely. Common obstructions include chambers pushed tight against a wall, documents or parts stacked on top, and dust accumulated on louver openings. Check that the fans run, that the louvers are clear, and that the chamber has open space around its intake and exhaust.<\/p>\n

    Lamp Output: Trend It, Do Not Guess It<\/h3>\n

    LED and arc lamps both lose output over their service lives, just at different rates. Incure rates the LED heads on its CDM\u2122 conveyor beyond 20,000 hours with 20% or less intensity decay, and its conventional mercury-arc heads beyond 1,000 hours with up to 45% decay. Those ratings belong to those specific heads, but they show why output needs tracking regardless of technology.<\/p>\n

    The method is simple. Choose one reference position \u2014 a marked spot on a marked shelf \u2014 and measure irradiance there with the same radiometer on a regular schedule. Plot the readings. A slow, steady decline is lamp aging; a sudden drop points to something else, such as contamination, a misplaced shelf, or a failing component.     Safety Hardware: Test It Like a Process Parameter<\/h3>\n

    The B-Series\u2122 auto-shutter and the C-Series\u2122 drawer-activated shut-off are the reasons a chamber is safer than an open bench. Confirm each one functions \u2014 open the enclosure mid-cycle on an empty chamber and verify that output stops, using an indicator card rather than direct observation. Check door hinges, drawer slides, and seals for wear that might let a door sit slightly open.
