“UV conveyor machine” gets used for everything from a benchtop belt with one lamp to a fully interlocked inline station. Engineers, buyers, and line leads talk past each other when the vocabulary is loose, so this glossary pins each part and term to what it actually does.<\/p>\n

Q: What are the main parts of a UV conveyor machine?<\/h3>\n

A: A chassis and belt, a lamp head, a height adjustment, a cooling path, and a control interface<\/h3>\n

Every UV conveyor machine combines a powered belt that carries parts at a set speed, a lamp head mounted above it that delivers UV energy, a way to set the distance between them, a way to remove heat, and a way to start, stop, and coordinate the lamp. On the Incure CDM\u2122 platform those pieces are deliberately separable: the chassis ships without a lamp head, and the head is chosen to match the process.<\/p>\n

The Moving Parts<\/h3>\n

Chassis.<\/strong> The frame, drive, and belt assembly. The standard CDM\u2122 chassis measures 137 \u00d7 36 \u00d7 41 cm and weighs 28.7 kg; the CDM\u2122 Compact measures 76 \u00d7 37 \u00d7 34 cm and weighs 15.9 kg.<\/p>\n

Belt.<\/strong> The surface parts ride on. The standard CDM\u2122 uses a 9-inch polypropylene belt, with an anti-static option. The CDM\u2122 Compact uses a 9-inch stainless-steel wire belt for processes where a polymer belt is unsuitable because of solvent exposure, part temperature, or cleaning chemistry.<\/p>\n

Belt speed.<\/strong> Adjustable from 1.5 to 12.0 ft\/min. Because the lamp output is fixed, belt speed is the machine’s dose control \u2014 slower means more energy per part.<\/p>\n

Mounting stand.<\/strong> An optional accessory for F400 configurations on the Compact; not available for F500 configurations.<\/p>\n

The Light Source<\/h3>\n

Lamp head.<\/strong> The interchangeable UV source mounted over the belt. On the CDM\u2122 it falls into three families: UV LED flood (L64, L88), UV LED focused beam (M51, M62), and mercury-arc flood (F100, F200, F400, F500).<\/p>\n

Flood head.<\/strong> Irradiates a rectangular area at once \u2014 6\u2033 \u00d7 4\u2033 on the L64, 8\u2033 \u00d7 8\u2033 on the L88.<\/p>\n

Focused-beam head.<\/strong> Concentrates output into a narrow strip \u2014 5\u2033 \u00d7 1\u2033 on the M51, 6\u2033 \u00d7 2\u2033 on the M62 \u2014 so components outside the strip receive no UV.<\/p>\n

x2AC.<\/strong> A single arc assembly holding one UVA tube and one UVC tube (254 nm), giving broadband output in one pass.<\/p>\n

x2A.<\/strong> Two UVA-only arc heads mounted in series along the belt, doubling UVA dose at the same speed with no UVC.<\/p>\n

The Numbers on the Data Sheet<\/h3>\n

Irradiance (mW\/cm\u00b2).<\/strong> The intensity arriving at the part surface at a stated working distance \u2014 for example, 1,900 mW\/cm\u00b2 for the L88 at 385\/395\/405 nm, measured at 2 inches.<\/p>\n

Dose or curing energy (mJ\/cm\u00b2).<\/strong> The total energy a point on the part accumulates during one pass \u2014 irradiance multiplied by time under the lamp. On the CDM\u2122 these figures are estimated from the measured irradiance profile, the illuminated length in the belt-travel direction, and belt speed.<\/p>\n

Illuminated length.<\/strong> How far the cured zone extends along the direction of travel. A longer illuminated length means more time under the lamp at a given speed. The F500 aperture is shorter in this direction than the F400’s, which is why the F500x2AC delivers 1,480 mJ\/cm\u00b2 at 6 ft\/min against 2,630 for the F400x2AC despite higher peak intensity.<\/p>\n

Curing height.<\/strong> The adjustable gap between lamp and belt: 0.5\u20132.0 inches on the LED heads and 3.0\u20136.5 inches on the F400\/F500 heads.<\/p>\n

Maximum part width.<\/strong> The widest part the head cures fully across: from 1 inch on the M51 to 8 inches on the L88, F100, and F200.<\/p>\n

Uniformity.<\/strong> A ratio describing how evenly the head irradiates its zone. Dynamic uniformity is measured with the belt moving; static uniformity with it stopped. The F100\/F200\/F400 arc heads list 0.82 dynamic and 0.75 static at 2.0 inches.<\/p>\n

Support Systems and Controls<\/h3>\n

Forced-air cooling and exhaust.<\/strong> Required on the arc configurations to carry lamp heat away; part of facility planning, not optional.<\/p>\n

Control interface.<\/strong> The LED heads accept PLC, RS-232, and foot-switch signals and offer timer or continuous modes. The arc heads have no external control port.<\/p>\n

Power input.<\/strong> Auto-ranging 100\u2013240 V, 50\/60 Hz across the platform.<\/p>\n

Part number prefix.<\/strong> CDM- for the standard chassis, CDMC- for the Compact.<\/p>\n

With shared vocabulary, a specification conversation becomes short: name the chemistry’s wavelength and dose, the part’s width and height, the target belt speed, and whether control integration is needed.
