UV Bonding for Glass Projects

It is transparent, so the curing light passes straight through to the adhesive, and its high surface energy lets most UV resins wet and grip it firmly. Why Glass and UV Resin Work Together A UV-curable adhesive cures only where light reaches it. With an opaque substrate that means careful positioning of the lamp. Glass also bonds without surface treatment in most cases. A wipe with isopropyl alcohol to remove oils and fingerprints is usually enough. For pieces that will be handled heavily or displayed outdoors, a light abrasion of the bond area or a glass primer builds a more durable link. Choosing the Lamp A UV LED lamp in the 365 to 405 nm range cures most hobby glass resins. Output matters: a stronger lamp cures faster and reaches deeper into a thicker bead.
