UV Maskants — Litemask™

UV-curable masking resins engineered for the temporary protection of aerospace components and electronic assemblies during aggressive surface finishing. Instant cure replaces slow-drying lacquers and tapes — withstands grit blasting, shot peening, acid plating, and anodizing, then peels cleanly without leaving residue.

Unbranded turbine fan with curved metal blades for Litemask™ UV maskant turbine blade masking
Turbine Blade Masking
Protects turbine blade roots, cooling holes, and precision-machined surfaces during grit blasting and thermal spray coating. Instant UV cure enables high-throughput masking of complex geometries.
Green circuit board with electronic components for Litemask™ UV maskant PCB connector and test point protection before
PCB Connector Protection
Seals edge connectors, test points, and keep-out zones on populated PCBs during conformal coating. Peels off cleanly after processing without leaving silicone or adhesive residue.
Polished shiny metal bracket with precision hole for Litemask™ UV maskant surface protection during anodizing
Plating & Anodizing Mask
Seals machined surfaces and threaded features against acid plating baths and anodizing solutions. Chemical-resistant cure withstands aggressive chromate, nickel, and hard-anodize processes.
Factory worker welding metal with bright sparks for Litemask™ UV maskant surface protection during grit blast and shot
Grit Blast & Shot Peening
Tough, resilient barrier resists high-velocity media impact during grit blasting and shot peening. High-elongation grades absorb impact energy without cracking or lifting at mask edges.
Blue and silver precision industrial dispensing machine for Litemask™ UV maskant dam-and-fill mould cavity masking
Dam-and-Fill Dispensing
Thixotropic high-viscosity grades stay exactly where dispensed on vertical surfaces, ideal for creating dams around component cavities and protecting selective areas during encapsulation.
Lab technician in white coat at computer for Litemask™ UV maskant use during medical device passivation
Medical Device Manufacturing
Silicone-free, residue-free formulations protect implant surfaces and machined features during passivation and electro-polishing of surgical instruments and implantable devices.
  • Litemask™ UV masking resins protect surfaces during grit blasting, sandblasting, chemical milling, acid etching, anodising, electroplating, and thermal spray coating. The cured film resists abrasive media, acidic baths, and elevated process temperatures, shielding designated surface areas from finishing operations.

  • Litemask™ conforms precisely to complex geometries, internal features, and curved surfaces that tape cannot reach. It cures instantly under UV light to form a continuous, pinhole-free mask with sharp edge definition. Unlike tape, it requires no cutting, fitting, or edge sealing — and peels off cleanly in one piece after the finishing process.

  • Litemask™ cures on demand under UV light in the 365–405 nm range — typical cure times are seconds to under one minute depending on UV intensity and film thickness. Instant cure eliminates the wait time of heat-cure or air-dry masking compounds and allows parts to proceed directly to the finishing operation.

  • Yes. Litemask™ is formulated to peel off in one clean strip without adhesive residue, tearing, or contamination of the finished surface. The peelable formulation maintains adhesion through the finishing process but releases cleanly on removal.

  • Litemask™ is available in multiple viscosity grades including thixotropic grades that stay in place on vertical surfaces without sagging before UV cure. Select the viscosity that matches your application method: brush, syringe, or automated dispensing.

  • Litemask™ UV masking resin is rated from −55°C to 105°C, providing protection through high-temperature finishing and coating processes. All grades resist grit blasting abrasion and acid bath chemicals typically encountered in aerospace and electronics surface finishing.
